Lars Peter Sorensen, son of Soren Lars Sorensen and Karen Marie Simonsen, was born 21 April, 1820 at Hals Aalborg, Denmark. He married Gertrude Marie Jensen on 6 April, 1847, in Vester Hassing, Aalforg, Denmark. Their were five children born to this union. Gertrude died 5, August 1862. In Denmark, in October 1867, he married Martini Kerstene Mortensen.

In 1868 the LDS missionaries baptized him into the Mormon Church. His wife was also a Mormon. Their first child was born in Vester Hassing and died there. Because of the gospel they immigrated to America in 1869, and came across the plains to Utah. The family first settled in Huntsville, Utah, where another baby was born, and a third child was born in Montpelier, Idaho. In 1871 they moved to Ovid, Idaho, where he engaged in farming. He died there 4 February 1888 when he was killed by a bull. Many old-timers can still remember the place where it happened. He was big and strong and a hard worker and an honest man. He was a father of eight children and one adopted child. This child's name was Larsen, and after a short time became Sorensen. His wife Martini and he made a home in Ovid, Idaho, until she died March 10, 1912.

Soren Peter & John Peter & Lars Christian Sorensen were sons of Lars Peter Sorensen and Gertrude Marie Jensen. They were born in Vester Hassing, Aalforg, Denmark and came to Utah in 1869 with their stepmother. Because of hard times the boys left their home in Ovid, Idaho, and lived together in Montpelier, Idaho. They farmed north of town and lumbered in Montpelier Canyon, and did various other labors for hire. Lars Christian was of poor health and died at the age of 18 years.

John Peter married Sena Catherine Mikkelsen of Logan, Utah. October 10, 1879 and moved to Lago, Idaho where they prospered. The beautiful home they built there is still being lived in today. They were the parents of fifteen children: Jane, John C., Nelse L., Junius M., Ephriam A., Willard H., Sena Gertrude, Mary, Nellie, Vera, Frances, Ina, Ada, Wesley A., and Edna.

Soren Peter Married Margaret Jensen in Mendon, Utah on June 15, 1878. They made their home in Montpelier, Idaho. Nine children were born to this union. Margaret Elnora, Amy Gertrude, Laura May, Louis Peter, Mary Johannah, Cora, Elizabeth, Wilford Oliver, Esther, and Nina Winona. Their mother died October 30, 1900 while still young. Then he married Harriett Jorgensen. He later moved to Albion, and Twin Falls, Idaho. Soren was a tall man and had thick brown hair, and a mustache and a beard. He died May 20, 1938 and was buried in Twin Falls, Idaho.
