My Parents: Anders Gregersen and Christiane Sophie Villemine Nielsen.

Father was born September 1825 and mother same year 1825. They were resigned parents. They had 12 children, 6 sons and 6 daughters and I, Karen Kristine Andersen, is no. 8. We loved our parents with our hearts, and we brothers and sisters loved each other. I often think about my home of childhood with joy and often with sadness in in my heart. I was born in North Jylland in Denmark and I lived here till I was 20 years old. Then I left for America.

I had a sister and a brother-in-law who left 1 year before me and they wanted me to come. I was sad when I said good-bye till parents and brothers and sisters and friends, and left on a big steamship to the Far West. I arrived in Augusta, Visconsin on Nov 4, a882.

When I had been at the ocean for some days, I had a strange dream. I saw the farm I later lived at. I saw a man who wanted me to follow him, I sis no want to but I had to whether I would or not. I was so scared that I woke up and I was happy and praised God that it was only a dream. But the dream turned true.

I had to stay and I lived there for 24 years.

Does anybody understand what it means to live with and raise a family with one you do not love, That is my story.

I got 7 children 6 sons and 1 daughter . I love my children dearly but I never learned to love him more than love a friend.

My heart belonged to my love of my youth before I got married. We loved each other till death does us apart and in Eternity too.
