  Generelle notater:

Peter Christian Scorup has been a very influential and important character in the development and improvement of the Salina, Utah area. He was extremely active in the community and took part in many businesses and enterprises which aided Salina greatly. As quoting From Utah Since Statehood on page 517 it reads "No man has contributed more to the progress of Salina than Peter Christian Scorup and no public enterprise of merit has ever been instituted in the district that could not count upon his financial and moral support.

He was born in Ephraim, Utah, Sanpete County in 1867. A son of Christian and Karen (Christensen) Scorup. His education was largely obtained in the schools of Salina, to which city his parents had in the meantime removed and in the Sevier Stake Academy.

He worked upon his father's ranch until he attained his majority and then took up sheep raising, having at one time a herd of ten thousand sheep. He was likewise the owner of the largest farm in the county, comprising one thousand acres."

He has had a lot of influence with many parts other parts of the community as well including being "the President of the Salina land and Grazing Company, whose ten thousand acres feed two thousand head of cattle." He was the President of the Lost Creek Grazing Company, the Utah Cattle and Horse Association, the Lost Creek Irrigation Company, and the Salina Hospital Company. He was the director for the First State Bank of Salina. He was the owner of the plant of the Salina Sun, and the promoted and President of the Salina Roller Mills as well as one of the promoters and builders of the Salina Telephone Company.

"He also installed the first electric lights ever seen in Salina, the plant now constituting a part of the plant of the Southern Utah Power Company. Even this long list of business enterprises does not completely cover the scope of Mr. Scorup's activities....His interests have ever been of a character that have contributed to public progress and prosperity as well as to individual success."
