Ethel Margaret Lewis
Generelle notater: Ethel Margaret Lewis was born Nov. 3, 1891. Ethel grew up in a large family. Her father was a florist who worked 12 hours a day, six days a week but did not make much money. They were poor but very happy and united. The family enjoyed attending church and were very active. After Ethel finished school she found work and then her family moved to a ranch in Nevada. Ethel could not find work in Nevada so she returned to Salt Lake and got a job. Ray Mace who had known her before she moved started dating her and they became engaged. Her father asked her to return to the family in Nevada and while she was there her mother suffered a stroke and Ethel remained for a while to take care of her mother and siblings. When other family members were able to take over she returned to Salt Lake and married Ray. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She was a great cook and put on a big Thanksgiving dinner for her children and grandchildren each year for many years. After Ray passed away her daughters took turns caring for her until her mind went and she had to go to a care center for a little while. She was over 100 years old when she died of old age.
